Foundation Friends In Action

It all started with an idea amongst friends in medio 2018 to organize social (entertainment, sports) activities. These were geared towards engaging the youth and adults of the community. Based on the positive response, this group of 7 continued organizing activities and subsequently got support from their partners and other volunteers. We assisted with cleaning up Emilio Wilson Park and donated to various organizations and individuals in our community. In certain cases, we even cross our borders to help the needy (based on request). As the years passed, we indicated the most common social issues in the community, particularly the Surinamese. We saw the importance of formalizing our initiative and since January 11, 2021, the foundation was incorporated. FIA consists of 5 board members. We are here ● to advise, and support persons of Surinamese descent on St.Maarten, among others within our capacity ● to develop activities in the social-, cultural-, and economical field; ● to organize informative meetings, workshops, and social activities in the broadest sense of the word
