St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation

The SSRF has been in operation since 1980 and involved in assisting mariners, swimmers and general boating community in case of sometimes life threathening situations out as sea. With a group of volunteers we operate two rescue vessels of which most of the maintenance is done by the volunteers. Besides rescue operations, our organisation trains their volunteers, assist social events (like the Heineken Regatta and other events with water(sports) involved (for instance school events). Our volunteers have been involved in solving many boat related incidents, airplane crashes and missing persons operations. We work closely with the St Maarten Coastguard.
